6 tbsp orange juice
1 1/2 cup apple juice
1/2 tsp all spice
1 cup raisins
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup brown sugar
Add all the ingredients to a medium sauce pan, whisk. Then heat to a rolling boil. It will turn a nice deep brown color and thicken. Serve hot over warm honey baked ham, chicken breast or other meat dish.

Hello,
I came across your blog because I was looking for info for my son with asthma. however, I was reading all your writing on your children, especially your son on the autism spectrum. Have you heard about Tito? http://www.halo-soma.org/
There is a book about him coming to the U.S. "Strange Son". Yes, I know the title is horrible. However, the interesting thing about his mother's technique is it's speed. A lot of people slow down when they teach kids with autism, but she believes in speeding things up. She says "you have to outpace the stim" The stimming shows you how fast they are processing. So you say "this is a dog" and by the time you follow up with the question "do you see the dog?" They've seen a stove, a light, your hand, their pants, etc. Too much has happened. I have seen kids really blossom with this kind of rapid prompting, so it may be worth a try. For instance, take him to his room, and as fast as you can, describe something to do. Fast. Sing-song "Hey honey lookatthis train this is a blue train we're going to pick up the blue train are you looking at the blue train, we're putting it on the table, look it's on the table, now we're going to put it on the track". Say it so fast you can barely keep up with your next thought.
The other interesting thing Tito talked about was trying to determine which foods were safe. For instance, he wouldn't eat round bread because he wasn't sure if it was the same thing as square bread.
Anyway, sorry to barge in like this. Your blog is wonderful. I'm going to try some of these recipes.
